Alabama Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)
WIOA is a federally funded program designed to assist job seekers with access to employment, education, training, and support services necessary to succeed in the labor market. The program is intended to serve adults, dislocated workers, and youth who are in need of training to enter or re-enter the labor market.
Bring your WIA referral form, resume and other documents listed on reverse side, to the Jefferson County Center for Workforce Development Office for intake and eligibility determination. After eligibility is determined, you will be scheduled to take the Test for Adult Basic Education (TABE).

The Alabama Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA ) Combined State Plan is now posted on the Department of Commerce Made in Alabama website for review and public comment. Public comments are being accepted through March 23, 2016. The plan is due to be submitted on to the U.S. Department of Labor on April 1, 2016 .
WIOA Eligibility – The Job Center
There are two ways to establish eligibility: Dislocated worker: If you’ve lost a job through no fault of your own (company closure, laid off, military spouse relocation), you can qualify. Your prior income has no bearing on your eligibility if you’re a dislocated worker.
