2022年3月7日 · I used to work in the kitchen at the Alamo and you could probably just ask for a to-go popcorn container. Ours always had some on hand for events at the least. The popcorn is bottomless for a reason: it’s cheap and easy to make. The kitchen will possibly even just throw in a filled container to get rid of some excess.

2024年2月29日 · Not an Alamo worker but a former Regal employee- the salt we used was a special kind that increased the buttery aroma of the popcorn to entice people to come buy it… I think it was FlavaCol or something similar. And lots of butter went into the kettle. I think it’s just extra good because it’s extra fresh. 🤷🏻♀️

When I asked the manager about it, they refunded the amount. While I love the Alamo that seems a little shady to me. So just be advised that free is not always free.

2023年7月13日 · The popcorn seems to be intended for sharing, but I usually have it to myself -- so the butter option makes me feel really sick afterwards. Tastes good, but too greasy and too much for one person. So the non-butter option might be the way to go.

2022年5月17日 · The bottomless popcorn is my go-to. The bowl is a nice size, you can split it among your friends, and keep on refilling that bad boy. Beware if you do the truffle or the herb versions, because your refills aren’t free. My location charges a buck per refill if it’s herb or truffle.

Covid killed Alamo Drafthouse in 2021, then it got acquired by private equity. We are in the zombie corpse of Alamo Drafthouse era and in the next decade the theaters will most likely be driven into the ground as the private equity sucks all the value it can out of it. Same thing that is happening across the American economy. Late stage capitalism.
