I have received some custom swords that were not as nice as Albion for a lot more money. Now getting to the point (ha-ha), there are some good quality swords out there for well below Albion prices.

2020年3月23日 · I haven't handled any VA swords, to be clear. I do believe that VA can have swords that look awesome and have fit and finish equal to Albion. But they don't have as much experience with originals as Peter Johnsson has. VA models often has subtle details which betray that. If faithfulness to a historical type is important to you, Albion is safer.

I can see how that aspect of it and final polishing can cause variations in blade size and etc. I'll post a picture example of the two sword examples I'm mentioning though a bit later. Just as an interesting comparison.

2017年5月21日 · Compared to the Albion, the Lockwood has much more hilt inertia, but I was otherwise surprised how similar the on-paper dynamics of the two swords ended up being. They have similar balance points and surprisingly similar rotational inertias, weight distribution and mass at the blade vibrational node.

2014年6月15日 · Albion does have a Squire line and Vikingshield has some swords not available direct through Albion. The Squire Line swords can be refined aftermarket to be whatever one wishes. I don't know the site but Google Ernie and custom swords for updating existing swords, or starting with a blade. Del Tin also uses 6150 Cheers GC

I had purchased a Principe from Mike Sigman via email and everything was going well until recently. I have paid all but $300 for the Principe and it’s been 2 years since I first placed my order.
