The ALCO Century 430 is a four-axle, 3,000 hp (2,237 kW) diesel-electric locomotive. 16 were built between July 1966 and February 1968. [1] Cataloged as a part of ALCO's 'Century' line of locomotives, the C430 was an upgraded version of the C425 model. Since 1992, five C430s have remained in existence. [2]

In July of 1968, the Lehigh Valley Railroad Company received ALCo sales proposal "DL OA-306" for 10 Century 430 locomotives with high adhesion trucks, priced at $224,375.00 each. We believe our paint scheme represents Lehigh Valley's intentions if they had purchased the C430.

It's a unique Locomotive train and I think it's very cool. Hard to part with, but it doesn't work for my collection.
