Don't know how many have an interest, but I for one would like to see one of the manufacturers produce a finely detailed version of the Alco FA 1 or 2. My preferred road name would be the Lehigh and New England.

The small postwar style with a fixed apron as posted by c.sam and Ahitpy. And also the scale version posted by cpowell. My Premier New Haven Alco FA2 with 5v PS2 died.It was parked on an unpowered siding while I ran other trains under DCS.Usually when I power that siding, the engine starts in conventional and I hit the start button on the DCS remote to get it into DCS...

I purchased the 3 Volt replacement kit from GGG. There is very little room to install it and keep the smoke unit. (Distance from front of smoke unit to rear of front motor is approximately 3 3/8". Board distance between mounting holes is 3 1/2".) I tried turning the smoke unit on the exhaust axist to gain more room. That doesn't do it and smoke unit is to big to mount crosswise. Any ideas?

Obviously, Lionel never made a matching B-Unit, however, I got the crazy idea to have someone like Len Carparelli custom paint a matching B-Unit.
