Alex Kidd[a] is a platform video game series developed by Sega. The franchise includes seven titles. The first game in the series, Alex Kidd in Miracle World, was released in 1986 and built into later versions of the Master System and the Master System II model, replacing the Snail Maze / Safari Hunt / Hang-On games of the first model.

Alex Kidd in Miracle World 2 is essentially a fan-made ROM hack of the original game. It uses the same game engine (with some custom modifications) but introduces a whole new set of levels and other features. It was designed as a direct sequel to the original game and ignores the events of Enchanted Castle on the Mega Drive.

Alex Kidd in Miracle World 2 is meant as a direct sequel to alex kidd in miracle world. Story. It's been 6 months since Alex defeated Janken the Great and reclaimed 'The Crown'. Alex's brother Egle has taken the throne and oversees the city of Radaxian. There is still unrest on the planet Aries however, as monsters still roam the land.

Secondly, the original version used button 2 to hit and button 1 to jump; these controls were inverted in the integrated version. The game was released alongside Super Hang-On and The Revenge of Shinobi as part of Sega Vintage Collection: Alex Kidd and Co., which was released for Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network in May 2012.
