decomposition - Can Aluminum Hydroxide (Al(OH)3) be heated to …
Jun 2, 2020 · On the wikipedia page for aluminum hydroxide the listed melting point is 300 °C (572 °F), but in the same page it states that aluminum hydroxide decomposes at only 180 °C (356 °F).
why are Ca(OH)₂ and Al(OH)₃ less soluble than Na(OH) in water
Jan 17, 2014 · $\ce{OH}$ is small anion and bonds effectively with small cations. Thus, in general, the bigger (and less specific charge) of the cation, the higher is solubility of the corresponding base in polar solvents, meaning that $\ce{Ca(OH)_2}$ and $\ce{Al(OH)_3}$ having much smaller and more charged cations are almost covalent in nature and thus, do not dissociate.
Why wont Al (OH)3 form in this reaction? - Chemistry Stack …
Nov 20, 2023 · The equations written by Aleph are all wrong, mainly because they are not stoichiometrically correct. They should have been written $$\ce{Al^{3+} + 6 H2O -> [Al(H2O)6]^{3+}}$$ $$\ce{Al^{3+} + 3 H2O -> Al(OH)3 + 3 H^+}$$ Anyway, the first reaction produces a complex hydrated cation.

Can aluminium hydroxide be split into Al 3+ and OH-?
Mar 9, 2018 · When writing a net ionic equation containing aluminum hydroxide, can the aluminum hydroxide be split into ions of $\ce{Al^3+}$ and $\ce{OH-}$, or does it stay as $\ce{Al(OH)3}$?
inorganic chemistry - Solubility of metal Hydroxides in excess …
Mar 31, 2021 · There are three kind of oxides/hydroxides: basic (e.g., $\ce{NaOH}$, metal hydroxides), acidic (e.g., $\ce{CO2}$, non-metal oxides), and amphoteric (e.g., $\ce{Al(OH ...
