ALSoD
ALSOD collates information about genes and genetic variants connected to ALS. This may include some genes with variants that have been shown to be related to ALS, but the evidence is weak. We also record information about genes and variants that may affect clinical aspects of the disease, for example how long people live after diagnosis.
ALSOD: the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Online Database
In 1999 the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Database (ALSOD) was generated to store these mutations along with ALS patient information to facilitate the identification of a correlation between the SOD1 genotype with the ALS phenotype. Here we report our ongoing development and redesign of the ALSOD database and its automated procedures.
The Combined Assessment of Function and Survival (CAFS): a …
Our objective was to describe a new endpoint for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), the Combined Assessment of Function and Survival (CAFS). CAFS ranks patients' clinical outcomes based on survival time and change in the ALS Functional Rating Scale-Revised (ALSFRS-R) …
An open label study of a novel immunosuppression intervention …
Neuroinflammation is increasingly tied to disease progression in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Participants in the first-in-human trial of intra-spinal allogeneic stem cell therapy for ALS received immunosuppression, and one participant saw dramatic improvement across multiple outcome measures.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Motor Neuron Disease (MND), Lou Gehrig's Disease, and Charcot's disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that causes the degeneration and eventual death of motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord.
