Mar 9, 2016 · Amboss doesn't have a lot of visual stuff (although they do have integration with Osmosis and they SAY they're getting integration with sketchy soon), BUT they do have everything kinda linked together so it's really easy to find information on any part of a question.

Apr 2, 2019 · I like AMBOSS because you can read an article on say hemolytic anemia, then immediately do practice questions from that article & it’s built into the app. You can choose physiology vs pathology if you’re a 1st vs 2nd year, adjust for question difficulty, and immediately see where your knowledge gaps are. AMBOSS is a very versatile tool.

Jun 28, 2017 · Amboss is nitpicky and superfluous but superior to Kaplan. UWorld does better B2C because students recognize UWorld is better and push it word-of-mouth. Schools are about saving money on inferior B2B Amboss/Kaplan strategies and just pushign students through, not about students getting an extra 9 points on their boards.

Jul 5, 2020 · Prior to starting amboss, I've completed about 70% of Rx by using it mainly as practice for our block exams. So far, I've done about 600 amboss questions and am sitting at 68% which is the 80th percentile according to them.

Dec 13, 2016 · Amboss possesses a level of detail in questions that might help you to impress your clerkship evaluators. I would hesitate to do 5 hammer questions too often though, as you then may overthink NBME/USMLE questions. P.S. Great that you have the anki addon; it is well worth it. P.P.S. I may consider doing Amboss questions soon to prepare Step 3.

Dec 7, 2016 · I've been doing Amboss questions somewhat casually as I prep to go back to the wards after a PhD (and try to shake off all this rust). My averages are around 30-40% through the first 150 questions or so. Overall averages for all users are ~50-60%. People say you typically need 90%+ on shelf exams to get honors at my school.

Feb 11, 2020 · I like Amboss but I definitely would not pay for it at this point. I'm an M2 taking step in a couple months (hopefully) and literally just bought it like 2 weeks ago. I would start with Rx or Kaplan for now. Start using Uworld once you get closer to dedicated and really only move on to Amboss when/if you complete Uworld.

Oct 4, 2014 · AMBOSS has been out for a couple of years at this point. I would like to know how people who relied on it faired on *shelf exams! I credit using AMBOSS all throughout MS1 and MS2 for giving me a strong knowledge base in preparation for NBME-based block exams and ultimately Step 1.
