2011年2月15日 · Sowa is a German illustration artist. His works remind me a little of Magritte's paintings, but in his illustrations, you'll find cows, pigs, dogs, and other funny characters surrounded by surreal and exquisitely drawn environments.

As a shy, home-body Amelie has developed a rich interior style with beautiful contrasting wallpapers and textiles and my personal favorite is the artwork by German Artist Michael Sowa. What are some of your favourite film interiors?

He gained new followers for his work on the 2001 film Amélie where his art on the walls comes to life. Sowa contributes illustrations to the satirical German magazine, Titanic, and he also did the art work for magazine covers of several well-known periodicals, most notably the December 2, 2002 issue of The New Yorker.

Michael Sowa belongs to the most noted illustrators in Germany. A wider public got aware of him through his illustrations for Axel Hacke’s publications and through his paintings shown in Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s film Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain.
