While serving in the IDF, Niv was the Head of training fighters "Krav Maga" State sports institute "Wingate" and parallel - acting specialist for Israel's security and counterterrorism.

Krav Maga Ami Niv is a martial art system dedicated to educating it’s students against verbal and physical violence. Ami Niv developed Krav Maga Ami Niv in the mid 1990′s; its roots derive from Krav Maga martial art with many additions from Aikido and Jiu- jitsu.
