2025年1月4日 · The previous train arrived in Lorton yesterday a little late. Was in the line up waiting to get in at 11:30. We had to wait till all the cars had been offloaded and gone out the gate before they would let any new cars in. An Amtrak employee was going down the line of cars checking them in and placing numbers on the cars.

2024年4月18日 · I think they still may be working out some of the bugs, as there was a delay listed for train #7/27 that doesn't make a lot of sense. But overall, this is good to know, and could be very valuable information. Knowing delays (largely through Amtrak Twitter Alerts, no disbanded) helped me plan my trips before, after, and during travelling!!!

2011年11月9日 · I just retired as a non-agreement employee from Amtrak. I was told that as long as my pass did not have my social security number on it, I would not need to change it. Today I went to book tickets for my wife and myself. The reservation clerk could not retrieve any information by using my SS# and said I was probably purged from the system.

2020年1月7日 · The current ticketing system that Amtrak instituted takes many steps to arrive at a fare. Its almost unusable by many travelers. Amsnag used to pluck the fares from the Amtrak site when they were easy to retrieve but on the new system, it puts up barriers to arrive at a fare. IMO, the change was made to not allow customers to compare prices.

2019年5月23日 · There are other ways besides the website and Amtrak.com. Travel agents can still book tickets, too. I also forgot to mention a third-party site that books Amtrak coach tickets - Wanderu: Search & Compare Cheap Bus and Train Tickets You'll pay the same price and receive an e-ticket from Amtrak. They don't appear to do sleepers, though.
