My experiences of Amtrak have been pretty good, but I don't have anything recent to base my thoughts on. I do take a look at their website from time to time out of interest and have always found it easy to navigate around. In my view, the costs of journeys can be reasonable in coach, but I find the charges for bedrooms to be quite high.

2022年7月19日 · Amtrak is much better on shorter routes, e.g., anything in the Northeast or Midwest. I’m sitting on the Sunset Limited right now, and the AC is one of those things that I’m noticing as well. The lounge attendant recommended that I bring a sweatshirt, and honestly I didn’t need one. It’s warm, and I’m sweating a tiny bit, but I’m not dying.

No, it's often the opposite of good, but Amtrak is the only choice for passenger trains in America. Anyone who's ridden good trains in Europe will be grossed out by Amtrak.
