Le Chevalier D'Eon (Japanese: シュヴァリエ, Hepburn: Shuvarie, (French "Chevalier"), literally "Knight") is a Japanese anime television series produced by Production I.G based on an original story by Tow Ubukata.

Le Chevalier D'Eon anime TV series about the titular character, who is loosely based on the historical figure Chevalier d'Eon. He lived in the middle of 18th century, pre-Revolutionary France under the reign of Louis XV. The series contains many characters and events based on historical facts but certain liberties were taken.

D'Eon is a French nobleman bent on serving his Divine Majesty Louis the XIV to the best of his abilities, following in the footsteps of his beloved sister Lia de Beaumont. However, his straight-forward role with the secret police is interrupted by the sudden death of his sister while on a diplomatic mission in foreign lands.

Lia de Beaumont, loyal servant of Versailles and its King, Louis XV, is found dead in the river Seine. Floating inside a coffin, on which the word "Psalms" was written, her body had been poisoned by mercury, thus preserving decay.

"Le Chevalier D'Eon" (Knight D'Eon) a diplomat and a special agent working for Louis XV, is fighting against those cults, and also on a mission to find the killer of his own sister. A mysterious cult organization called "Rose Cross" stands in his way, using vicious powers to create a dark creature, "Gargoyle" to take over Europe.
