Dec 5, 2023 · Seems to always be spotted by EA8/DF4UE Canary Islands and AI6VN/KH6 Hawaii as it passes by those stations. They must have very good receiver systems. Kind of reminds me of satellite AO-7 which only works when in the sun it's batteries died many years ago. This is a VLEO (very low earth orbit) satellite hi hi. Rick K7CNT

Jun 17, 2015 · The Mode A transponder (145 up / 29 down) is still working, but it is much harder to receive... I've still made several QSOs over it. I'm not sure how much action Mode A will be seeing in the years to come as AO-7 is apparently going to go into many years of daily eclipses that will reset the transponder and it normally 'wakes up' in Mode B.
