2024年11月29日 · Shots are 100-400 yds typically and can be across windy canyons. I ranch in west Texas and have aoudad on here, they are tough animals and we have a 270 or bigger rule. Aoudad shooter 1975 mentioned some great outfitters, some others are also bubba Glosson, Tye Vick, wildlife systems.

We are sick and tired of guys wounding and loosing aoudad and orex with 6.5 needmores to the point we may refuse to let guys hunt these animals with them. 2019年11月9日 · Aoudad grow their horns pretty fast, but when those rams get about eight or nine years old they start looking more like a buffalo in body configuration. I agree with prior post in that I have never seen a great ram that did not have good chaps.

2021年12月25日 · Agreed, with the proper shot placement either of your rifles will do the deed. On my hunt, I was using a 30-378 & 210gr Nosler ABLR's. At 425 yards & quartering away, the Aoudad took 3…1st shot was six inches behind the front shoulder & exited the off-side shoulder. Follow up shots were through brush & in the same area as the 1st shot.

2018年11月26日 · I should be able to give you some ideas at the end of Feb. I'm heading down to Van Horn in mid-Feb. for my first time chasing aoudad. To this point, I've approached it just like hunting sheep or elk in the mountains. Lots of leg work and shooting out to 400 yds.

2019年12月19日 · I agree 100%, I think Berger is more vigilant about there tips now.. I have shot 6 Aoudad all with Berger.. 180 grain Hybrid, 215 Hybrid, 140 Hybrid, 250 Elite hunter.. Never had a sheep not go down.. I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to shoot the 168.. Just make a good shot.. "Placement." Any bullet can fail with bad placement.. 1.

2022年11月20日 · Pretty easy place to shoot them if you ask me. All in all it was a cool hunt. A few people I talked to likened the hunt itself to a Mountain Goat hunt or a Sheep hunt. We hunted some decently rugged country, but my Aoudad hunt was a walk in the park compared to the goat and sheep hunts I have been on.View attachment 443452
