2014年10月16日 · Apple possibly tried to anticipate M1X schedule, but is somewhat struggling with many third party components. Maybe it is also having low M1X Yelds. Unless he was lying, or apple changed it's goals, we must not forget last year's WWDC when Tim Cook said Apple still had some great Intel Macs coming in this 2 years transition period.

2020年11月17日 · Apple is making M1 chips to run macOS. AMD and Intel make general-purpose CPUs. So Apple can add silicon to speed up common operations in macOS while x86 is fairly static. If Apple needs something to do certain kinds of video processing, or transcoding, or other expensive operations, then they can just add silicon to do that.

By that time, might as well wait for the Apple silicon Mac Pro. Will be interesting how they plan to handle the graphics. For as good as the graphics for the M1 (and M1X assuming 2x GPU cores) for a integrated GPU, it would be hard to imagine Apple being able to fit the GPU cores in a SOC with the CPU that could compete with dGPUs.

If i search M1X Macbook pro on youtube and Apple's official WWDC keynote comes up, I would expect there to be news about the MacBook pro in there. If, say, 9to5mac had done something like this I find it hard to believe this subreddit wouldn't be mad about it

2008年10月14日 · Apple very well could have planned to ship these new M1X variants earlier in the year. The M1X could very well have been ready months ago, but other issues in the supply chain forced them to delay. Also, Apple doesn't just release chips when they are ready, they release chips when they have products that are ready to use them.

2021年7月24日 · I know, but for a DirectX 12 Windows game to be actually supported on Apple Silicon it needs to go through a lot of additional things and not just MoltenVK. And most games are still 32 bits or use 32 bit libraries even brand new ones in 2021.

2010年11月7日 · Apple doesn't need a new iteration of the ARM to get people to buy/upgrade to the new Pro models. But with the MacBook Air, unless they come out with a 15" model (unlikely), Apple will need a carrot for people to upgrade to the new Air, and nothing makes us act like Pavlovian dogs earning to upgrade than "new chip".
