Its only through community testing that we know wind strength varies regionally across every map, and that we know how the wind strength actually affects windmills. For example, if you are in a region of <100% wind, what that means is the wind only blows x% of the time.

2022年1月31日 · It's been a while since I played there but for us, wind turbines on Val have always provided infinite energy for zero cost as the hidden wind stat seemed to be a constant. Put down one plus the respective cable/outlet and see how you fare. If you get outages, add a generator or tear down the wind turbine altogether.

2021年11月27日 · Wind turbines in areas without 100% wind will just randomly turn on and off. The island has no 100% wind areas. You can set up a gas generator to automatically turn on when the wind turbine shuts off, but the gas generator will not automatically shut off again when the wind turbine turns back on.

2016年10月4日 · yesterday i tried using a Wind Turbine on The Island. My plan was to use them to power our defensive Towers, each Tower has his own generator already. So the Wind Turbine should power the Turrets and the Generator should act as a backup. Note: Tower + Genny was already build before. So i had to integrate the Wind Turbine into the existing cables.

2021年1月6日 · Yes. My whole base is powered by them - works great, since Valguero always has enough wind. From what I've seen flying around, most people on the server rely on wind turbines for power, barely anywhere I ever saw/heard generators.

2021年7月26日 · they basically work as generators( you have to connect them to a cable to power it) but you don’t need gasoline like the generator, just a good wind( you can check it pressing H, it will be on the top left showing a percentage, higher the percentage, faster the wind, on valguero the wind is 100% always everywhere, that’s why it’s better there.
