Armada cemented himself as the best European player in 2009, winning SMASH ATTACK and Epita Smash Arena 3, and facing Mango in grand finals at GENESIS, his first American major. In 2011 and 2012, he was considered the best player in the world, as he won GENESIS 2 , Apex 2012 , and Apex 2013 .

Armada continued his tournament success in 2016 and 2017, winning events such as GENESIS 3, Dreamhack Winter 2016, GENESIS 4, and EVO 2017 as well as a multitude of doubles events with his teammate and brother Android. In addition, Armada won the first four iterations of the highly prestigious invitational tournament series Smash Summit.

GENESIS 3 is an offline American Melee tournament organized by Boback. This No Tier tournament took place from Jan 15 to 17 2016.

Coming off his strongest year ever, Armada continued his success by winning the largest grassroots Melee tournament in history, GENESIS 3, being second to only EVO 2015 in entrants. Thus Armada became the back to back GENESIS champion and is poised for a three-peat.

It is the only Smash game to be featured in every edition of GENESIS. The nine year rivalry between Armada and Mango notably began at GENESIS, where both players met for the first time. The two players continued to meet in four consecutive iterations of GENESIS Grand Finals. Ultimately, Armada won three of these tournaments, while Mango took one.
