The Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography (ASLO) traces its roots to the Limnological Society of America (LSA), which was established in 1936 to further interest and research in limnological science.

The ASLO 2025 Aquatic Sciences Meeting will be an in-person meeting, beginning on Wednesday with an opening plenary and reception, then concluding on Monday – with the scientific program scheduled from Thursday to Monday.

Monthly regular issues of Limnology and Oceanography and occasional special issues are published each year by the Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography (ASLO) in partnership with John Wiley & Sons.

Limnology is the study of all inland waters as ecological systems that interact with their drainage basins and the atmosphere.
