Interdisciplinary Science and Technology Building I provides flexible laboratories with adjoining workspace for bioengineering; neural engineering; and molecular, tissue and cell engineering research to develop artificial organs, biomaterials, and diagnostic and therapeutic devices.

We house instruments for five facilities in the biosciences and the chemical and environmental characterization cores: Just a short walk from Biodesign to the ISTB1 building is the Flow Cytometry Facility. ISTB1 is expected to house two more facilities soon for preclinical imaging and regenerative medicine.

The Histology Core is part of the Knowledge Enterprise Biosciences division and is housed within the Regenerative Medicine and Flow Cytometry space on the ASU Tempe campus in ISTB1. The HistoCore provides histology services for basic science (non-clinical) research.

Located at the core of the main campus in Tempe, Arizona, ISTB1 expands the College of Life Sciences and the College of Engineering housing faculty research in the areas of bioengineering, biogeochemistry, environmental studies, and fluid dynamics.
