2016年9月3日 · The car pictured with the 25v 5 cylinder engine is known as the 'Talladega Audi' from 1986. It was a EU Audi 200 that was rebaged as the USDM Audi 5000CS. Engine spec was 650 bhp from 2.2 litres @ 2 bar boost pressure, allowing Bobby Unser to achieve a top speed of 206 mph at the Talladega oval circuit in a publicity stunt by Audi.

Der bekannte 2,2-l-25-V-Fünfzylindermotor bekam Titan-Pleuel und leistete 650 PS bei 6100/min. Die Aufladung erreichte bis zu 3 bar Ladedruck. Im April 1988 wurden die ersten Rekordversuche unternommen. Dabei wurden Höchstgeschwindigkeiten von über 345 km/h erreicht. Am Ende hatte Audi mehrere Dauer-Geschwindigkeitsrekorde aufgestellt.

Such an engine is said to have been used by Audi to do a speed run at the Talledega Oval of Nascar fame. An interesting bit of history on this run can be found at Intended Acceleration. In one of those pictures the manifolds for the 25V head can be clearly seen.
