2013年5月22日 · My roof is currently misbehaving in that it raises an inch or so, but doesn't retract any further. The motor can be heard making an unhealthy noise though. I plugged the car in this evening and it said there was an intermittent fault with the sensor for the canopy flap, G597. Does anyone know what exactly this does?

2022年5月30日 · For your convertible top Roof Flap Servos (RFS) Fault under Address 26 (03247 - Sensor for Canopy Flap; Right (G597) I would recommend you follow this link to our forum and then use the VCDS to perform the roof flap Adaptation. Audi will encourage you to replace one or both of the RFS which may or may not solve the problem.

Technical Background A fault in the potentiometer in the cover flap motors sends an implausible signal to the convertible top control unit. The convertible top operation control unit stops the top operation when the cover flaps are fully open.

2020年6月19日 · The Mk2 Roadster has a long and inglorious history of roof failures. Fortunately, 90% of these are as a result of the Roof Flap Servos failing. This is a well known problem that Audi acknowledged in a TSB going back to 2008 which required the replacement of the Roof Flap Servos. Unfortunately, just replacing them may not solve the problem.

2021年8月7日 · When the roof fails to operate properly, it will require a VAG software compatible OBDII diagnostic device in order to identify the DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) and affected components. Since fault scans and drill-downs can often take a while, it's a good idea to keep the engine running during the fault scan so you don't run down the battery.
