Just in case that I decide to start replacing this by myself... this valve needs basic settings / adaptation (not sure what you call it) if renewed. Can this be done with VCDS? I tried to look around different options but couldn't find it.

2023年7月13日 · If you replaced the N493 you need to go through an adaptation. Did you just replace the belt drive pump or did you also replace the attached N 493. All the belt drive pumps sold by the non Audi vendors appear to include the 'thermostat' on the back of the water pump which is the N 493 temperature control valve.

2022年5月23日 · The electrical connection to the N493 "actuator for engine temperature regulation" is a 5-wire connection all direct to the J623 engine control module. It's possible it's an issue with one of the wires or connector; more likely an issue with the N493. Assuming it's unchanged from the B8.5 Gen3 CNCD engine: pin 1 - angle sensor ground from ECM

2023年12月27日 · I have a 2016 Audi A3 2.0T Quattro that had a minor leak coming from the housing of the Thermostat. I went ahead and replaced the thermostat unit (N493) along with the water pump, union and seals. I put everything back together, filled the coolant expansion tank while running the defrost and believe to have fully filed the system.
