Felt’s wife Audrey suffered a nervous breakdown in 1954, due to the stresses of her husband’s career, her estrangement from their daughter as well as Felt’s transfer to Seattle. Audrey suffered from depression in the following years and eventually committed suicide using Felt’s service revolver in 1984.
