F90 is a lightweight assault rifle manufactured by Thales Australia to provide soldiers with increased firepower in the battlefield. The rifle was introduced at the Eurosatory International Land and Air-Land Defence and Security Exhibition in Paris, France, in June 2012.

2015年8月4日 · In Australian Defence Force (ADF) service, the rifle will be known as the Enhanced F88 (EF88), marking a significant enhancement of the original Austeyr F88. Two versions will be delivered – a standard rifle with a 20” barrel, plus a carbine with a 16” barrel. Deliveries to the ADF will begin in the next few weeks and phased over six years.

2016年5月30日 · Two versions of the rifle will be delivered: the F90M standard rifle with a 20″ barrel and the F90 carbine with a 16″ barrel. Adding the grenade launcher to each makes them the F90M (G) and F90 (G). The New South Wales town of Lithgow has been supplying rifles to Australian soldiers for more than 100 years.

Thales Lithgow F90 is the export designation for the Australian LAND 125 program product model EF88 ("Enhanced F88"), which itself is an overall improved version of the F88 assault rifle, the standard weapon of the Australian Army.

The F90 technology is scaleable from 4.6mm up to .50 calibre. Thales says initial focus will be on 5.56mm ammunition utilising low toxicity, optimised propellant, to be produced at its Mulwala facility, and a projectile developed by the overseas partner.
