Ava is a graduating 5th year student at UBC with a Major in Gender, Race, Sexuality and Social Justice (GRSJ) and a Minor in Asian Canadian and Asian Migration Studies (ACAM). As a mixed race Cantonese-Chinese woman, she is particularly interested on the intersection between race and gender within the media and the world at large.

2023年5月18日 · Currently, I am looking at early cancer detection using machine learning algorithms at BC Cancer. We are hoping to find tissue characteristics that allow us to predict recurrence of cervical cancer from the initial biopsy. Hopefully, this method will allow earlier cancer detection and management, thus improving patient outcomes.
