On the July 1, 1996 edition of Nitro, Tenta got a shot at the WCW World Heavyweight Championship against The Giant but failed to win the title. Following a match with the Dungeon of Doom's Giant, Big Bubba Rogers, who had just joined the Dungeon, shaved half of Tenta's head.
