2015年10月29日 · I know the front axle nut is a 32mm even though there is a bit of play. I broke the 1/2" drive 18" breaker bar at the 1/2" drive socket (the 1/2" drive broke in half....). I am trying to remove my axle so I can replace my seal. I have a 3/4" drive ratchet but can not seem to find a 32mm socket that is not $40+. There are SAE (standard) sizes.

2013年7月1日 · hey guys. im replacing the front axles in my 2004 ext cab tonight as well as putting on some new rotors :th_crazy:. ive read a couple of threads on here regarding the axles and the rotor and hub replacement and noticed people using either a 35mm or a 36mm socket for the axle nuts. I have both sockets at home, and dry fitted them both last night.

I measure it to be a 33mm size nut but none of the car supply stores have a 33mm socket. They skip from 32 (which I have,a 6 point) to 34mm. Is it a special socket for Toyota?

2014年4月17日 · The nut should not be secured tightly and you should not need a socket to put muscle into it. Just a crescent wrench will do. The nut holds everything against everything else and then the castle nut and cotter pin keep the nut from backing off. Tightening the nut would bind the bearings and wear them out real quick.

2014年2月5日 · 159 ft-lb for AXLE nut. 30 ft-lb seems low for such a critical assembly (loosing front wheel hub while in motion risk loss of control, yike!). I understand that there is circumstances where too much torque can damage parts, but on these steel-on-steel flange assembly, is there such thing as too much torque.

Reattach the lower ball joint fastners, remove the inside dust shield carefully so you don't distort it. Using a slide hammer and axle adapter, pull the bearing out of the knuckle.
