Azarga is used to reduce intra-ocular pressure (IOP, pressure inside the eye). It is used in adults with open-angle glaucoma (a disease where the pressure in the eye rises because fluid cannot drain out of the eye) or ocular hypertension (when the pressure in the eye is higher than normal).

Timolol belongs to the group of medications called beta-blockers. This combination medication is available in eye-drop form and is used to reduce the pressure inside the eye for people with open-angle glaucoma or intraocular hypertension (increased pressure in the eye). Fluid is constantly being formed in, and drained out of, the eye.

Posology. Use in adults, including the elderly. The dose is one drop of AZARGA in the conjunctival sac of the affected eye(s) twice daily. When using nasolacrimal occlusion or closing the eyelids, the systemic absorption is reduced.

Decrease of intraocular pressure (IOP) in adult patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension for whom monotherapy provides insufficient IOP reduction (see section 5.1). The dose is one drop of AZARGA in the conjunctival sac of the affected eye(s) twice daily.
