2025年1月2日 · Is it more likely that the BBC will switch off SD on Freeview at some point (maybe in the next 2 years) and therefore all channels would be in HD via one mux, meaning there would be no need for the current second HD mux. So could the BBC be trying to negotiate that future.

2014年5月12日 · I flicked on Eurovision on BBC One HD (Satellite) during an ad break on the boxing and it looked really poor PQ. Alot of macroblocking and its nothing new for BBC as their HD is shit to be blunt. They use low rates and have for ages. Its run at the limits of what Freeview can take, which is low.. So the PQ is always pretty poor.

2023年8月31日 · I have this TV Panasonic TX-43JX600B (2022) LED HDR 4K Ultra HD Smart TV, 43 inch It’s a VESTEL manufactured TV 🙄 Recently BBC HD channels have had a sort out and The HD channels have moved to positions 1,2 and 9 for BBC4 and duplicated on the original 101 etc. I’ve re-tuned my set and the channels appear correctly as above.

2008年9月8日 · The volume difference between HD channels and SD channels is to do with Dolby Digital (AC3) having more dynamic range and also encoded slightly lower volume (this is the spec for DD) compared to MP2 sound.

2018年1月30日 · The BBC idea of "HD" has been poor for some years no - when switching over from SKY I often find myself checking to make sure I have not gone to the SD channel by mistake. - very poor. I do remember in the very early days of BBC HD - I think they started with a world or European Finals and it was probably the best HD I have seen outside of 4k.
