Bugs walk around on the ground and don't specifically follow the player. They reverse direction upon hitting a wall, another Bug, or a Shellmet. Bugs have two variants distinguished by color. Purple Bugs can walk over ledges. Red Bugs reverse direction upon reaching a ledge, but they can still be pushed off them by Shellmets.

Bugs are a common enemy in BFDI: Branches. They are featured in all World 1 levels (except Firey's and Leafy's Tutorial) and are destroyed in one hit. They come in two variants: Purple Bugs and Red Bugs. Bugs are similar to Goombas from the Super Mario franchise.
