The Oplot-M Main Battle Tank (MBT) was revealed in 2008 as an improved version of the Oplot, keeping the old Russian "M" for modernization. Main components were developed back in the 1990s with additions made in the early 2000s and it completed Ukrainian Army trials but was not ordered by the Ukrainian Army for the same reasons as the T-84.
