The BMB plowmate was the largest of 3 different size pedestrian tractors built by British Motor Boats who started importing American built machines during the 1930,s. The plowmate has a 2 foward and reverse gearbox and is powered by a JAP model 5 engine or a Briggs&Stratton ZZ engine both of around 6hp.

The BMB Cultmate was the mid-range garden tractor produced by British Motor Boats, who were importing American Simplicity garden tractors before the war. Due to short supply of parts during the war years, they started making their own machines.

The smallest BMB tractor was the 1 3/4hp Hoemate, illustrated below. The 3hp Cultmate was the medium range unit. You can see an example below: some had only the two driving wheels, while the one illustrated is fitted with a seat and rear wheels. The largest unit, the Plowmate (below), used a 6hp JAP engine.

2018年5月26日 · One belongs in a BMB "Hoemate". Many years ago (1960's) it lost spark and my father sent it to be repaired. They could not get the flywheel off and ended up butchering the end of the crankshaft (and the flywheel is still in place!). Then about 10 years ago I saw another Spryt for sale and bought it for spares.

2014年4月28日 · Welcome to the forum, Rich, I’m sure there’s someone on here with a Hoemate that can help…. My photo shows Brian with his Spryte (2 stroke) engined BMB Hoemate. His mate had just got it going for him in 2012 at the Selwood Rally, Nr. Trowbridge, Wiltshire…. New parts for the Brockhouse engine are very few and far between !!

2011年4月24日 · Does anyone know where to find parts for a BMB Hoemate tractor? Found one out in the shed and it looks pretty much complete, except for the fuel tank. You have an old tractor there. They were supplied less the engines by Simplicity to British Motor Boat Co. and this stopped at the start of WWII. You must log in or register to reply here.
