Using a geared winder to wind up a rubber motor that is used in rubber powered model aircraft will ensure that the flyer gets the best out of their model. A winder is essential when flying such models as the GYMINNIE CRICKET and BMFA FROG. A simple hand operated drill can be adapted to become a winder. However hand drills are cumbersome and heavy.

2013年12月15日 · Replied by Eric on topic BMFA Frog Another reason, which may not be correct - it's for when the model lands. It holds it in a nose-down attitude, so in the unlikely event it should be facing into wind, it will not cartwheel across the field at every little gust of air.

2013年12月1日 · The BMFA frog comes with all the balsa strips needed, paper covering in the form of outlines on paper, prop and rubber band. All we had to provide was the glue, cellotape, pins and a craft knife. Jobs a good un! Not having made the work board yet we had to settle for a piece of cardboard, as the instructions suggest.

Our recently deceased former Club Chairman Mike Downing had been flying C/L since 1948 where He along with several other school friends including Ron Greaves flew models on the school playground and football fields. His first model was a Frog Kit of the Vandiver powered by an original long stroke Frog 100 diesel.
