While it did not change the length of BMT, the incorporation of this reinvented form of bivouac training exposed Airmen to the Expeditionary Air Force concept of operations by living in the field and experiencing their first combat exercise.

The airmen charged to collect and post the photos have a huge backlog to get through and also don’t have access to all the historical flight photos. They’re relying on donations from former airmen to donate theirs to the cause.

Production numbers for the 1970's averaged over 85,000 a year with a decade high of 105,323 in 1971; Vietnam, of course, was the main reason for this.
