BMT UAS didirikan pada tanggal 19 Oktober 1998 dengan jumlah Pendiri sebanyak 26 orang, dikelola oleh 5 Pengelola, dengan modal awal sebesar Rp. 1.175.000,00. Pada awal operasi BMT UAS meminjam rumah salah satu Pendiri. Selama 9 tahun beroperasi, kini BMT UAS telah memiliki 1 kantor pusat dan 6 kantor cabang, serta Pengelola sebanyak 49 orang.
