Pistons should match cylinder head type (some low-compression pistons are interchangeable with diff. head types, never optimal though). Kuglefischers are extremely temperamental in that they operate at extremely high pressures and are entirely mechanical.

I cannot get this 318i running, it has good compression, seems to have good spark, I know it gets cold start fuel spray, it does get fuel to regulator by fuel rail. I would like the timing procedure for this M10 engine.

2024年6月7日 · I’ve owned my 318i for 40 years and high idle speed has been an issue for most of the last 30 years. I spend time and money replacing the ICV and the idle control module and ultimately went with a version of the “penny” trick. In my case I drilled a small hole in (IIRC) a short M10 bolt and inserted into the hose leading to the ICV.

2008年9月29日 · "Lanc3r" is right-unless you're restoring to factory specs, you'd be much better off forgetting about rebuilding a nearly obsolete M10 and going with a stock M20 for starters. You can find LOTS of nice parts for it on eBay, Ireland Engineering, and Turner Motorsport. :thumbup:
