not sure now i know one was the o2 sensor n one was the cam sensor but steve said it was the cam sensor and the bmw guys said that changed the cam sensor and they were ok checked the mass air flow sensor,fuel pressure also.it does't stall at idle only after it warms up and u apply the gas.as long as the engine is cool it runs fine

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer BMW, The check engine and EML lights come on when the car's engine management system senses a fault. This has nothing to do with oil service, coolant level, etc. It is a failed component or operating range out of spec that is causing this light.

2011年6月4日 · BMW Mechanic: Steve, BMW Expert replied 13 years ago that is possible, but less likely than the valve. you would need to have the system looked at with a bmw scanner or swap in a known good unit to check for that possibility. you can look for a cheap unit on ebay and see if it makes sense to buy it an swap it in

This is a great vehicle with not a high failure rate at all in both the engine or suspension. I have seen some SMG pumps fail but it is not overly common. A co-worker (a bmw tech) just purchased one recently due to the low failure rate on this vehicle. An M3 is a great vehicle to own. I think this would be a good vehicle to own.
