The reason it's a big deal is that ethanol is fairly corrosive to rubber and certain metals, so it can cause damage to vital components. Ethanol also attracts and bonds with water from the air, and that water can separate out inside the tank due to phase separation.

Meaning, the AKI rating has already taken the additional 5% ethanol into account. 2016年5月26日 · I just put 4 gallons of e15 in mine and filled the rest up with 93. I was going to fill it up but the octane rating was only 88, and my tune is a 93oct tune, which is why I stopped. I also put the Stage 2 91oct tune on the car so it doesn't pull mad timing. I DID however manage to find an e85 station close to me! _____
