M52 is available in few BMW models. e36 328, e39 528, e38 728 and z3 2.8. Now here is piece of an advice. Do yourself a favor and look for less abused engine. I mean the m52 could handle lot of stress, flooring, redlining and stuff, but you know .. “You better be her first.”

2006年3月26日 · I'm considering an engine replacement in the next year. I like the M52 2.8, which is smooth, fairly powerful, economical. Has anyone done, or seen, or heard of dropping an M50 or M52 into an e28? And did the owner live to tell about it? What are the trickiest bits? Is this a reasonable option--or just a bucket of trouble waiting to spill?

2016年6月16日 · Replacing the stock m52 manifold with m50b25 one. What’s all about. First – all m52s are with exactly the same intake manifold. Like 800 cc between smallest and largest ain’t do any difference. Dumb huh ? Second – m52 head intake ports are sligtly bigger than the manifold ones. This means your engine is factory restricted.

Which one is cooler? Also think im going to turbo one but which one is more reliable? I'm thinking about 400whp. I have both engines in my garage rn. I need to pick one.

2012年11月29日 · The E28 should be able to get out of its own way with the M50, and still get good gas mileage. As for the V8, i still need a 4.4L V8 donor to build the frankenstein V8 with, and that will be a fairly lengthy process.
