The F 900 GS has been redesigned with new fairing and weight-saving measures, resulting in a slimmer profile than the F 850 GS. The bike looks smaller and has more modern styling, featuring full LED lighting and rear turn signals that also function as brake lights.

After testing the base F 900 GS and one with the Enduro Pro Package on roads and off-road terrain for over 300 miles outside of Las Vegas, it’s clear that this is a much different Bavarian animal than its predecessor.

For this review, we are focusing on the F900 XR, although you can read our 2025 BMW F900 R review here.The new F900 XR slots into the range below the S1000 XR, and will be competing with bikes like the new Triumph Tiger Sport 800, Yamaha Tracer 9, and Honda NT1100.

BMW’s stuck with the Brembo cast monoblock four-piston radial calipers from the first generation, rather than switching to the Nissin blue calipers on its fancy superbikes.
