2023年7月11日 · My belief is that compared to ICE cars with all the weight in the front, with the weight being distributed in the edrive40 being that it is an EV, would I have any issue with traction in the rain or ice/snow? We do get heavy rain regularly in the spring and fall. Currently on my spec sheet it lists "3FK 19" M Y-Spoke Bi-color Black Wheels, style.."

2024年4月11日 · BMW current EVs are more competitive than Mercedes and this isn’t even the Neue Klasse cars. You could argue it's exactly because they're NOT the "Neue Klasse" cars and BMW offer their ICE cars as EVs (4 series, 5 series, and in china the 3 series is available as a full electric too, iirc).

2024年1月19日 · Thats really great to hear. I freaking love this car as well, and for others reading actually haven’t have actually experienced any slipping at all. More just being proactive bc my alley especially is just like pure ice for 2 months and I’ve seen SUVs even at super low speeds take the gas off and just slide toward the trash cans.

2023年1月5日 · The storm also started warm which led to more ice than might otherwise be expected. Overall I'm pleased with how it performed and don't regret making the jump from a G05 X5. Back to lurker mode for me - hope this helps with anyone looking to make a decision about taking an iX to the snow.

2022年2月5日 · Basically when it rains beforehand or you have black ice conditions it’ll freeze the top rubber and any water that’s at/in the bottom sill. I live in CT so wet and freezing conditions are more common here than straight snow.

2023年2月9日 · I drove through the largest snow storm to hit the midwest in 10+ years a week or two after purchasing the vehicle and it drives like a dream and handles perfectly fine in the winter even on the basic set of four tires that came from the factory, with only a little bit of traction loss, but it will slip on ice.

2022年1月10日 · I would consider getting a second set of wheels and mounting dedicated winter tires on them. That way you can downsize and run a non-staggered wheel setup which will give you a better ride with more sidewall, a ton more options for tire choices, and you won’t have to pay for mounting and balancing every time you want to go to Tahoe you can just swap the wheels over at a shop or even at home ...

BMW I3 20" performance tires are suicidal to drive on a snow covered surface or ice. They turn the car into a sled. There is absolutely no breaking, the car will keep sliding in the direction it goes, with both steering and breaking doing almost nothing.
