Introduced in 1928, the R62 was BMW’s first 750cc touring motorcycle and it laid the foundation for all big-touring BMWs to come. It uses the last generation of the bent-tube, all-welded frames known as “flat tankers,” and it was both light and strong.

2022年12月6日 · This 1929 BMW R62 is one of 4,355 produced during the model’s two-year run beginning in 1928. It is said to have been refurbished circa 2013 under prior ownership in Germany and was acquired by the seller in 2017 from a collection in the US and subsequently imported to Canada.

Five years after BMW started making motorcycles, they introduced the 750cc-engined R62 in 1928. Unusual at the time, the R62 has all the things that are hallmarks of BMW motorcycles — horizontal twin engine, shaft drive and a cantilever front suspension.

The R62 was BMW’s first 750cc touring motorcycle (engine type M56), produced for only two years (1928/9), with a total of 4355 machines built. The R62 was designed and built in concert with its smaller brother the 500cc R52, which used the same chassis, and identical engine and gearbox castings.
