That and the fact that he added all the badges and whatnot - well... it's just a counterfeit. That kind of business just sucks. When Dnepr made a 2WD, it was a swingarm as well, unlike BMW who could only engineer theirs onto a hardtail. The sidecars were swingarm sprung as well, unlike BMW who used leaf springs or no suspension at all on their sidecars.

There are places on the web that you can buy parts to make a bike very close to an R71, including the special looking lights and fenders. That said, someone with a bunch of actual R71 parts can build an R71 using a lot of aftermarket parts and a Chinese frame. Still, buyer beware.
