2017年3月25日 · Well, our mechanic told us he thought he remembered something about the 5.0 having an excessive oil consumption & that BMW would fix it.. so my husband researched & sure enough, all 5.0 from 2007-2012,13 have defected design valve Guide seals.. he printed the info & took my car to our local BMW dealership b/c we knew they would just based on word of mouth, not have anything to do with it.

2017年12月11日 · Also, I'd add that the fuel mileage of the 50i was pretty atrocious. In a city/hwy test loop I did in both a 50i and 35i, I got 14 mpg on the 50i, and 20 mpg in the 35i. I average about 25-27 mpg in all hwy driving in my 35i, and about 17-18 mpg in city driving, so I'd say that's a pretty reasonable ~50/50 test loop.

2015年1月30日 · I recently purchased a BMW X6 50i (2009). After taking it onto the highway and accelerating as fast as i can to reach 110km/h. I got the same thing, engine light came on and the Idrive screen said "Engine malfunction detected. reduced power."

2018年6月15日 · I bought a 2010 BMW x6 from what was then Sonnen BMW. The car had lots of problems the first year or two but I worked them out with XXXXXXX. It was in the dealership once for almost a month. One issue that started at 36K miles was heavy oil consumption. I brought it in maybe half a dozen times and BMW kept telling me the oil consumption was normal.

2020年12月25日 · If 5.3 seconds in a 40i ( BMW rating, but actually faster according to some reviews) is not fast enough than you should buy a 50i. Personally the 40i is very quick and will beat 90+ percent of the SUV’s and even sedans on the road you encounter! Amazing for a big boat how quick 40i is and always brings a smile to my face when I punch the peddle!
