The BMW Z4 GTE is a racing car which competed in the sports car races such as the American Le Mans Series, Tudor United SportsCar Championship and European Le Mans Series. It competed from 2013 to 2015 and was replaced in 2016 by the M6 GTLM.

The BMW Z4 GTE makes its debut at the 12 Hours of Sebring in 2013 and is already a major player in the title fight in this first season in the ALMS. After 6 victories in 35 races, the coupe's racing career ends with a final triumph in 2015: victory in the final race of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) in Estoril (“4 Horas de Estoril”).

The BMW Z4 (E89) is the second generation of the BMW Z4 range of two-door roadsters, and was produced from 2009 to 2016. The E89 replaced the E85/E86 Z4 and is the fourth model in the BMW Z Series .

In July 2012, BMW Motorsport engineers in Munich began work on developing a GTE version of the BMW Z4, which would comply with ACO regulations.

Under the carbon fiber heavily-ducted bonnet rests a newly-designed 4.4-liter variant of its GT3 counterpart. The 32-valve aluminum V8 pushes out a restricted yet visceral 473 horsepower and 354lb-ft of torque, thanks to a pair of 29.4mm restrictors tucked behind the kidneys.
