Pair of Alco FA1's. Both were new to SPS. 864 was new as GN 442A before being sold to SPS as 864A, becoming BN 4116. Retired in 1972 and sold to the Long Island RR as LIRR 615.

Ex-SP&S FA's awaiting their fate in Tacoma. Another FA1 that made it into the BN era was 4118, new as GN 442D, became SPS 865A-1 then 4118. Date is approximate.

Train spotting just after the BN merger was a delight. Ex-SP&S power was plentiful in Seattle while the ALCO's were still running. Thanks to technology, I was able to take this reject shot and atleast make it presentable. Former SPS FA1 # 869 just made it into the BN era as 4104. Date is approximate and photographer is unknown.
