2022年5月15日 · That being said, the GP60 fleet has soldiered on in its as-delivered Blue and Yellow paint for decades now, and the end is finally in sight. These units have been cycling through the Topeka Shops recently, and new paint is likely in their future. Here, I got up close and personal with the BNSF 188, which began life as the ATSF 4029 in July, 1989.

No Warbonnets, but a Santa Fe consolation on the 2nd District...
Caught the BNSF local on the move westbound today in Glendora, CA with GP60 188 leading two H2 GP60Ms and a healthy train of 6 tankcars of beer-making materials for Miller-Coors in Irwindale. I think the last time I caught a yellowbonnet leading was with two GP60s last September with TO member 'tc' in San Dimas.

I suspect when the original 15 lease was up, the BNSF just renewed the lease. This time, they are "rebuilding" the units, and giving them the BNSF paint. Hopefully, someone can add pertinent information here.
