The Los Angeles Junction was incorporated in 1923 to operate a private line in the Central Manufacturers District. Controlled by Santa Fe and now BNSF, the terminal and switching line has a spaghetti bowl of track in Vernon. Its fleet of four CF7s were rebuilt by Santa Fe from F7 (A)s, this one in May of 1972.

Over the last couple weeks, many of BNSF's remaining 2400-2649 (GP30U, GP35U) loco numbers have been appearing and disappearing at Barstow as these units are transferring ownership between BNSF and LT&E. Arm chair tracking is being difficult to say the least. Below, a list of "BNSF" lettered GP30U/GP35Us still indicating Barstow, CA as their home:
